Edmontosaurus (SciiFii)

Edmontosaurus neoregalis (name meaning "new regal lizard from Edmonton") is a species of large mostly-quadrupedal hadrosaurid (duck-billed) dinosaur that originally lived in western North America during the late Campanian and Maastrichtian stage of the Cretaceous Period 73 million years ago to 66 million years ago, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii and now lives in the Cretaceous Safari tour in Cretaceous Park located at Sacramento, California.

Edmontosaurus neoregalis is one of the largest hadrosaurid species, measuring up to 12 metres (39 ft) long and weighing around 4.0 metric tons (4.4 short tons), but some individuals have grown to even greater maximum size of 15 m (49 ft) and weighing 9.07 metric tons (10.00 short tons). It is covered in scaly skin like native modern non-dinosaurian reptiles (such as lizards) and is a gentle herd-dwelling herbivore that feeds mainly on leaves, fruits, soft-shelled nuts, cycads, ferns, and horsetails. It is classified as a genus of saurolophine (or hadrosaurine) hadrosaurid, a member of the group of hadrosaurids which normally lacks large, hollow crests, instead having smaller solid crests or fleshy combs. Despite its massive size, it is able to run on its back legs when playing or to escape potential danger. During the mating seasons, male Edmontosaurus neoregalis compete each other and being the loudest individual in order to win to right the mate. The females lay around 25-30 eggs about 2 months after the mating seasons, the eggs hatch about 1-2 months after being laid, and the hatchlings are cared for by their mothers until they are sub-adults, when they must fend for themselves in their herds.
